If you haven't tried it already, you should consider downloading Kcast from kitco.com.
It installs into the start/task bar on the bottom of your screen. It can be configured to refresh automatically at set times. In my case, it displays live gold and silver prices, and is set to refresh every 15 seconds. Starts up automatically when the computer is turned on.
Kcast includes live graphs etc, but just having it displaying the live prices in the bar at the bottom of your screen is really great.
