Not sure I agree with this report and find it difficult to see how either China or USA could weaponise Li against the other. USA doesn't need Li from China (Tesla batteries are made by Panasonic a Japanese firm) and Li chemicals (Hydroxide and Carbonate) can be sourced from countries other than China. This may change in the future but not at this time in my opinion.
