Australia is a small player in climate change issues worldwide and i think to take the bushfires and immediately start rattling on again about climate change diminishes the human loss of life. There was not enough spent on prevention, no fleet of waterbombing helicopters, no big paid fire fighting force. That should be the focus. Climate change discussion should come well after that. Having said that, if the predictions are true and the globe continues to warm then apparently we are in deep shit. I think this is what we are moving towards and for this reason the world should strive for 100% renewable energy by 2050. Should Australia stop selling coal tomorrow though?
