Most indices are down over 1 yr time frames and US is flat over about 11 months. With some fair volatility to boot. This is the second correction this year which shows the spread indices have been trading on. Not many people seem to be expecting them to go up - which to some degree can lead losses to be self-fulfilling - but also it doesn't often tend to be the case that what everyone thinks is going to happen is what actually does.
