Hey Barg, just use a table to compare the numbers (comparison analysis), like the one below;
As can be seen, cost comparison is over 5 years (and excluding the $11,000 tax incentive from the mix), the saving over said 5 years is $17,199. Now those numbers do not take into account enviromental, health, etc savings, nor do they take into account how that $17,199 cost reduction is recycled back into the economy, re-invested, used to pay down mortgage, etc, etc. Now, if you were off grid and charging your EV from home solar/battery set up, those savings ramp up by a further $2,549, thus a total saving just shy of $20,000 ($4,000 pa) over 5 years.
Now, if we assume for a moment that the cost of extracting Lithium, processing it right down to end battery product is same cost of extracting and processing fossil fuels, you would have to be a knuckle dragging banjo player not to take the EV option...............
