An arguable point, but I'm calling it a fuel tank, given circa 90% of the fuel (electricity) for the average EV driver will come free from home roof solar and battery storage (in the not to distant future). If you look at the dynamic of EV manufacturers, that is tantamount to supplying a new electric vehicle with a circa 90% of the fuel supply already built in and payed for. I'm not counting the infrastructure cost of the home solar and home battery because that is ostensibly a household asset, which serendipitously fits with the synergy of EV charging. Nor does it include a change in the fuel tax, which may be adjusted to facilitate EVs in the future.
