The issue Barg brings up (I think) is that to charge a half decent EV battery will take more than what most (at least current) home PV systems can generate and if cars are not in the driveway/underground storage warehouse during sunlight hours they will need energy storage systems to hold the free sun energy until they can be plugged in.
