“Power Wall got cell-starved, basically”
Elon Musk today following the launch of the Tesla Model Y
i.e. not enough lithium batteries for them to meet demand.
Now that's a reassuring statement for those of us invested in lithium.
I appreciate that the shortcoming is likely due to a battery manufacture bottleneck but rectifying this with increased manufacturing infrastructure and output is clearly going to increase lithium demand.
*I'm reposting this from the lithium demand thread because I don't think the implications of that statement should be understated or ignored
