Agree. So does the Federal Govt and Govt of WA. That's why they have funded and set up the Battery Research centre at Curtin Uni in WA. It's charter is to do just that. Govt is definitely doing the right thing by funding the research centre, by funding fast chargers in Australia and by lending $19m to PLS to improve the road to Port Hedland.
As per my previous post, EV demand in Australia will be driven by models we like at a price we can afford and nothing to do with Govt. I for one do not want to waste my taxes on subsidies.
