True, it would be much easier for him to fit the bill today, but in the past I think his brand of BS (philosophy) couldn't tolerate the actual BS in politics, too many shades of grey.
The 1% stay close to the sectors that control the world, and yes, unfortunately they have the means to mess with any threat, atm. When climate change starts to interupt their wealth, it will be nice to see them squirm. I can hear them crying now, becuase as oil consumption visibly heads south, where do you think their shorter buddies will be placing their bets. But best carma, having to pay $10 for PLS as they panic and exit their oil stocks.
A guy I follow in twitter, tracks oil demand and recently reported that China oil consumption fell 0.03% in 2018, which in an economy growing at 6.4% is a big number. Over the past 10 years California population has growth by 5 mill, yet their oil consumption has fallen - early days, and slowly but surely it will happen.
