To the guy asking about trading with no funds in account. Do not make the mistake I made many years ago. I had a couple of occasions where funds were not in my Commsec CDIA account on the day of settlement back in 2008. I was charged $55 on each occasion and they sold other holdings at a loss to cover the trade. I believe that charge is now $110 To this day, I cannot put in a bid unless there are enough funds in my CDIA account for 24 hours before the trade. Say I only have $1000 in my account. I purchase $900 worth of stock at 10am. I sell that stock for $1100 at 11am. I cannot trade again for at least two full days when funds are once again cleared in my CDIA account. This is the penalty I have to pay for a couple of discrepancies many years ago.
