Great question @Billya. It is certainly possible. Though, totally inaccessible to the mere "retail" mortals like ourselves. If, you somehow have access to a brokers orderflow at an investment back or some other firm dealing with heavy trading etc or some other method then yes you can certainly see some live #SHORTSELLING going on and even then it's still tricky. Broker has better things to do like raking in comms.
TIPS TO HELP would be to start thinking contrarian. OR if that is hard to do for many people which is understandable, start thinking once you get out of a "long" position, WHY you got out. If it's good enough, many others think the same and then you have the start of a downtrend cycle beginning to take place. There are signs well before this for astute technical traders and those for a feel for price action. Intuition is a massive arsenal for discretionary traders (like myself. It's a heavy part of the game, something no algorithm can do.
