I note your comment about the tall poppy syndrome on HC that has effected past good posters.

I'd like to add that I believe there exists a very unhealthy tall poppy syndrome in this country that pervades many parts of the Australian psyche. It has more ill effect than the ills it is supposed to suppress.

To me, the average Aussie strives for mediocrity aiming to be the average Joe by default, like a white sheep only comfortable within the immediate herd.

Yes, it has its niceness too, in that its great that no one here likes a big mouth or a skite, which is a great characteristic of personality in general. But where it goes wrong is that this willingness to call out the mouth becomes a mouth in itself in wanting to call out anything different from itself. Any black sheep, so to speak.

Hearts here a a good example of being victimized, and those mouthing off at them are examples of the overbearing and misuse of the tall poppy syndrome.

Now, where are all those wankers that had a win today?
