    The grammar police may not have been watching close enough. It's more complicated than I thought. My use of the word halve was also incorrect. Saying "the price could halve tomorrow" is wrong. Like you said, halve is a verb but it also presupposes the result of two. For example, I will halve a rockmelon tomorrow. The result is two separate pieces. So halving a dollar gives you two fifty cent pieces, not just fifty cents. So the correct phrase I should have used is "the price could reduce by half tomorrow".

    And no I haven't been drinking ; - )
