Had some bad luck 9 days back.
Cat got hit by a car. Neighbours saw it, and drove it to the vet.
Everyday has looked promising, but the finish line never seems to get closer.
We are in very deep now.
So, I'm talking to the finance person at the vet.
She says "you don't happen to have a pension or health care card do you"
'Huh? What? How will that help?'
"Well it can be used to adjust certain fees"
'I don't have one, family member who lives here has one. Can that be used?'
"Sure, I'd need to calculate it but I'd say that's going to save $1200"

Since when does the government cover pets?
I couldn't believe it.
If that's the case, it would have been good to have a health care card over the past couple years. I might have saved enough at the Vet to buy a new car.
