I am trying to ascertain whether a key opportunity of Chi-X is the ability to nudge your order down into Chi-X pricepoints to avoid (or step out of) churns. Is my understanding of your posts correct?
(Valve: I acknowledge your caveat that you may not be fully across the fineries of Chi-X. No probs. Yes, I have access to Chi-X through Commsec's IRESS Viewpoint.)

    1. Your Chi-X order is still matchable against ALL available orders on either exchange (ASX + Chi-X) not only other Chi-X orders?
eg. my Chi-X 10.25Sell would necessarily be matched with any available 10.5Buy (whether on ASX or Chi-X)?
(The graphic below suggests the answer is yes, but I don't know what the HL code stands for, and whether this indicates some other privileged access - I can't find the answer on Google)

    2. If I place a (fullpoint, 10.5Buy) order through Chi-X then it will jump ahead of other (let's call it) ASX-only (10.5Buy) orders in the queue? (I think I have observed this, but @slick's post suggests his experienced the opposite: that ASX orders prioritised. Perhaps my experience resulted from some other issue, eg Broker's privileged access)

Note to other Commsec IRESS Viewpoint users. You have to ask Commsec explicitly to have your access to Chi-X switched on (which is free todo). Your access is NOT granted by default. You would then have access to Chi-X through your IRESS Order Pad (widget)
