I have always endeavored to show the young the wonders on offer in nature, and all parts of the environment offer different wonders, so my kinder have seen the wonder of glowworms and fireflies, along with the discomfort of leeches, and horror of confronting venomous snakes. Have been criticized for allowing them to use quads, and supporting them in shooting competitions. (None of my progeny has shot anything other than a target.) Some of these may or may not go against your base values, regardless you have my utmost respect. Mum went missing after visiting my sister. Her car was found several days later stuck on a log in remote country area. Search was conducted in thick fog and minimal visibility for several days with no result. Her remains have never been found. Investigations found the probable cause was detour & road closed signs that had been left out unattended after they were no longer required leading her to roads that were inaccessible by normal vehicles. Sorry for the digression but she had expressed concerns she was suffering a dilemma similar to yours. Younger sister was nominated executor, this all happened years ago, but with no remains there is no death cert for probate. Everything gets real ugly when there are people involved that don't belong to the immediate family. Live well friend, Fluffy

Sorry oldfluffy - yes Mid North Coast of East Coast....sometimes my fingers do not keep up with the brain (happening less more often though). I am so very sorry to hear the losses you and your family have suffered - I imagine it would be truly horrendous not to have closure when someone goes missing. There must always be a nagging doubt in your mind and I envisage it would be very hard to put aside. Please feel free to vent and reach out - there are many good people here. take care
