    Thanks Kulu. I did a little bit of research and could see that the Capital Gains Tax is reduced by 50% if held for over 12 months. The example I saw listed a $10,000 increase in capital attracting $1,850 if the investment was held for over 12mnths.

    I still have a feeling that day trading or short term trades with the effect of compounding would more than offset the 50% decrease in CGT?

    Any opinions?
