Sounds like an ordeal...sorry to hear. . You ever been to visit the Ukraine with her? Kiev is a fun city - great food and bar scene, gorgeous women everywhere (as you would know, obviously) and you can do a heap of cool shit there. I got to drive a tank, fly an old Soviet era aircraft and had a hell of a time at the shooting range firing every gun imaginable. And Chernobyl is super interesting if you have the appetite for it...but pretty eery / sad place obviously.
definitely keen to go back if / when international travel become an option again
