--Chameleon shares climb on Fiji prospects

CHAMELEON Mining has begun work on a mineralised structure in Fiji that it says could yield gold at estimated production costs of US$135 per ounce.
Only 5% of an 8km long mineralised trend on Vanua Levu has drilled, but Chameleon says that 5% contains up to 500,000oz.
Close-spaced channel chip sampling is being carried out at the Alpha ore shoot, which reportedly offers opencut ore over a width of up to 8m from surface down to 150m and open a depth.
Meantime, on another Fijian island (Ovalau), Chameleon is investigating an exposed mineralised quartz stockwork zone.
The zone exposed following a cyclone and landslide, with Chameleon saying that this "act of God occurrence has enabled a detailed sampling program to be undertaken and completed which otherwise would never have happened".
Shares in Chameleon were flying this morning, up 5.5 cents to 21.5 cents in late morning trade.

There was also an article in the Melbourne Herald-Sun on them in the business section.
