Sorry to hear about your friend. He/she is blessed to have you as a friend. I suspect the next few years will be difficult for you both.
We are at the beginning of our journey and have found out about the Dementia Australia and are exploring government and private support programs - I must say we both are reasonably intelligent but so far it would appear that the government makes it difficult for people to understand the offerings and assistance. I do feel for those with mental and physical limitations as they try to navigate the minefields..!!
Finally, yes the HC community is tremendously cathartic for me as it provides me with we are tremendously private people and have limited the people we have told, so this environment is perfect to reach out. I could not ask for better.
