Agree that it appears to be a really safe place. There was just nothing interesting to do, all the touristy stuff is a waste of time (like everywhere else in the world, I guess). Looking at some fountains or buildings, big load of meh.

I must say that the food was consistently good everywhere I went and the nightlife was conveniently located at my hotel.

It was absurdly hot. Impossible to walk more than 200 metres without having to stop inside a building with aircon. Explains why nobody walks anywhere in Dubai, everyone takes some form of transport. Even the bus stops have their own aircon units.

There are just so many (subjectively) better to go around the world. Personally, I wouldn't go back.
