You can do both, I do both, personally I find day trading stressful but enjoyable, very satisfying to see/read & execute successfully.
I day trade with a larger amount on less volatile companies & a smaller amount with spec.
I personally overall make more money on S/T trades, because I do this separately with a larger amount, I only buy into companies I’m happy to actually invest in with this strategy, I’ll very often aim to free carry, I have an exit price I stick with, hope this helps you.
