@Lambrae@mirrenSorry to leave you guys hanging the other day... happy to share as much info you guys might be interested in for the crypto world.
Ill start with some of the basic items that I reckon you will be interested in.
Top tier exchanges that I use - these will cover pretty much all of the coins you could want to trade - these are the exchanges of the crypto world. There is always a saying in the crypto world though, "not your keys, not your coins" and what that means is that the purest's believe leaving your coins on exchanges leads you to the risk that they will be hacked or just "exit scam" you and take all your funds. This did occur a bit back in the early days, but its rare now, and these exchanges have all been around pretty much since the beginning and are considered very respectable. It is not in there insterests to fail or the crypto scene in general to fail as all there profits are generated from fees charged in Bitcoin or there underlying token.
* Binance - This is one of the premier exchanges, large liquidity and trades all the majors plus a lot of alts
* KuCoin - trades all the majors plus a lot of the alts that binance wouldn't
* Bittrex - similar to KuCoin from a coins available perspective but larger and more clout - you dont really need an account on both though, just one.
* Bilaxy or Graviex - respectable enough, but I would never leave coins on here for extended periods - purely for the extremely alt plays - lists the majority of the coins the others do not... these are for the real penny hopefuls.
Buying and selling crypto - If you are new to the space then you wouldn't even yet own any, so you need to get some of that sweet sweet coin you just fell in love with... or just the OG - Bitcoin. To do this you need to exchange your AUD (fiat) for Bitcoin (BTC) or another major. There are three platforms you could use for this in Aus - there are others, but these are the respectable/trusted that I am aware.
* CoinJar - Aussie platform - high fees - trusted
* Gemini - US based, owned by the Winklevoss twins - aka the first Bitcoin Billionaires, aka Facebook/Zuckerberg settlements in the day. High fees - extremely secure storage and exchange options
* MineDigital - New aussie startup - extremely secure, extremely low fees, I know and deal with the owner and team daily - good people.
Where can you check out the value, market cap, value of coins?
* Coinmarketcap - now owned by Binance - doesnt show up all coins... but a huge range.
* Coingecko - will show all of the coins around really - all the weird alts etc
Hit me with whatever questions you may have, any time... There are other topics we could chat about, mining, alts, blockchain, distributed ledger tech - it kinda goes on forever. I dedicated a lot of time to the space from 2016 and still learn a lot daily and still have not spent time on some areas.
Cheers!
