Algo's. For what purpose in particular do they switch them on.
During one afternoon this past week, @valvesound suggested (accurately as it turned out) that the broker was about to switch the algorithm on (it was 3:30pm and the stock may have been OSP or BRN ... can't recall). Valve got it right. Within minutes, the 1min Heiken Ashi's took on the "caterpillar" look - lots of legs (wicks and tails). For what purpose in particular do brokers switch on the algo? I thought the broker would manually drive the closing action to maximise control (ie maximise profits) much like a pilot takes over from mid-flight autopilot to take off and land.
