End-of-day summary:
The share market fell for the second time in three sessions as a poorly-received trading update this morning from market darling Nvidia depressed US futures.
The ASX 200 finished 26 points or 0.33% in the red. Overnight weakness in oil and metals kept resource stocks under pressure. Wesfarmers and Woolworths also weighed after trading updates. The big four banks put on between 0.17% and 0.81%.
Sinking US stock futures cast a long shadow this session as Q4 earnings from AI Chip-maker Nvidia fell short of expectations. Nasdaq futures declined more than 1% before paring their fall to 0.46% at the Australian close. S&P 500 futures were off 0.22%.
