Yes the worst thing that you can do sometimes is jump in too early - wait for the bottom to be confirmed - that can take a while -
Powder dry is a good way to view the situation - a lot of the indexes are at peaks - sit back and watch are my thoughts - also a lot of stuff going on in the world that has not become clear as yet - nasty stuff even more nasty brewing in the middle east - can get much worse imo -
I think @Endless nailed it a bit today mentioning peeps selling off their good stuff - We seem to be at the beginning of a correction here so buying half way down can be a good way to loose your shirt .. Just taking the weekly DJI here - see how things are when it is closer to the long term trendline .
