You make $$$s on the ASX speccys by buying stocks when you know punters are going to buy and send the SP up. Then you sell at a point where the chart says previous buyers will get desperate to unload.

Of course. If you are incredibly clever you can be like the punters on the threads and never get shaken out and remain happy to hold stocks in huge downtrends. That is another strategy.
