Hi Wrighty, thanks for the helpful feedback, appreciate a veteran's point of view.

Ideally would like to day trade ASX 300 stocks (to supplement my longer term trend(?) trading) but those shares don't seem to be popular within this forum it seems?

I've also recently started looking beyond the ASX, particularly - and coincidently - towards FX / currency trading for the reasons you mention.And I'm currently using a paper trading account myself for these trades, but enjoying the learning experience.

Fortunately I've gotten one thing right on my journey so far and that is risk management which has protected my live longer term trading account and, although I had a shaky start in 2020 after covid I've manage to recover the losses and am on the cusp of making a profit, but obviously still a long way from being a profitable trader.. feels like I'm slowing inching closer at least (I hope).
