    Thanks afternoon crew.

    End-of-day summary:

Aussie stocks held their ground as US futures recovered as the aftershock from a weekend of Middle East hostilities started to wear off.

The ASX 200 inched up one point or 0.01% to its first gain in three sessions. The Australian stock benchmark fell on Friday as Israel launched air strikes against targets inside Iran.

Energy producers, tech companies and select defensive sectors kept the ASX above-water this afternoon. A takeover offer lifted Santos 10.92%. Uranium miners posted double-digit gains.

US stock futures firmed in Sunday night trade as a surge in oil prices abated. S&P 500 futures rose 0.31% by the Australian market close. The S&P 500 sank 1.13% on Friday night as Iran returned fire at Israel.
