The share market logged its highest close since early May as it added to its longest win streak in two-and-a-half months.
The ASX 200 climbed 0.6% to 7295. The index last closed above that level on May 1. Healthcare, consumer staples and utilities were the session's strongest sectors, helping offset declines among resource stocks.
Small caps and speculative stocks sat out the rally. The Small Ords shed 0.13%. The Emerging Companies Index gave up 0.21%.
S&P 500 futures were steady ahead of tonight's Juneteenth US market holiday. Exchanges reopen on Tuesday.
