I live in a State where we have abundant gas, Natural and Green Hydrogen, heaps of wind, solar and thermal. Still have a coal fired power station that will be replaced by batteries and we have the cheapest most reliable electricity, anywhere. Wind works fine. It has a life of twenty years, pays for itself in ten. Thats ten years of FREE power. Solar panels are on the same return. I hope the rest of Australia (SA is also on the right track) get their act together and enjoy the same cheap reliable power we do.
