Thanks afternoon crew.
End-of-day wrap:
The share market's rebound from Monday's three-month low gathered momentum as a sharp slowdown in inflation raised hopes of a rates pause next month.
The ASX 200 jumped 1.1% after consumer prices recorded their smallest increase in 13 months. Rate-sensitive consumer and property stocks spearheaded a rally that lifted ten of eleven ASX sectors.
The speculative end of the market also saw strong gains. The Emerging Companies Index popped 1.82%.
The Consumer Price Index increased 5.6% year-on-year in May. Economists had expected a bigger gain of 6.1% after prices rose 6.8% in April.
The dollar and bond yields dropped in the wake of the data release. Stocks added to earlier gains fuelled by the Dow's first rally in seven sessions.
