    Tonight's birthday drinks are for Lou Reed, who would have turned 79 today if he had taken it a little easier in the Seventies. But then he wouldn't have been Lou Reed. Cranky old bugger. Hard to blame him - if there was any justice in the world, this would have been a massive hit:
