Thanks afternoon crew.
End-of-day summary:
The share market's winning run extended to a seventh session after strong job gains underlined the strength of the labour market without undercutting the cast for an interest rate cut next week.
The ASX 200 overcame a soft start to advance 18 points or 0.22%.
Retailers, banks and tech companies led the rise, offsetting a weak session for resource stocks following retreats in oil, gold and copper.
Total employment jumped by 89,000 jobs last month, almost four times the median forecast. The unemployment rate held steady at 4.1% as participation increased.
US stocks closed mixed overnight as the China trade war truce rally lost momentum. The S&P 500 edged up 0.1%, while the Dow eased 0.21% to a second straight loss.
