Day traders' after-market lounge May 4

A welcome swing session following two days of solid falls. The ASX 200 bounced off a five-week low today, trimming an opening fall of 56 points to just four points or 0.06% by the close.

Investors waded back in to property stocks, miners and tech. The financial sector was a major drag after a poorly-received update from NAB.

Positive US futures helped lift the mood here. S&P 500 futures firmed 0.19% by the Australian market close.
