Day traders' after-market lounge May 8

Thanks afternoon crew.

A second straight gain for the market. The ASX 200 rallied 56.5 points or 0.78% today, fuelled by strong gains for energy producers and miners (except gold). Tech and financials also booked solid gains. Supermarkets, gold miners and healthcare providers dragged.

A fairly quiet day in Spec-land. CPH provided some afternoon excitement. MTM, LYC and WA1 also performed.

US futures were modestly lower at the Australian close. S&P 500 futures -0.08%.
