Today's races were held under very trying conditions .We began the day on quite a nice track and a tail wind. Traders were well in front early but conditions deteriorated from 10.45am when the wind did a 180degree turn and we were racing uphill for the rest of the day. Many crowd favorites that were up nicely eventually finished in the red with some finishing in the brown. Hopefully our DT crew used their 6th sense and exited early today before it got ugly.
We had 44 hopefuls line up this morning in the Demolition Derby. Sobar found 4 outstanding awards and 5 for a honorable mention but as can be seen from the figures most finished under water and stewards were confronted by loud booing as weigh in took place at 4.10pm
For what its worth the outstandings go to AOA opened .007/ top fluc .009/.closed .009 from @FXm ,QXR .029 /.033 /.029 also from@FXm and RAN .018/..026/.024 from @Numlock .
The honorable mentions go to HAW .105/.125 /.10 from @Beno77 ,@Wazza3006 and your correspondent. ,LCY .034/.039 .031 from @Wazza3006 and your correspondent ,IDZ .048/.054 / .046 from @Wazza3006 ,ECT .06/.071 /.055 which was mentioned by @takizawa2 ,but possibly more a question mark rather than a tip ,and finally ATP .031/.035 /.027 from @dfern Well done Wazza for the 3 mentions ,hope you had your running shoes on.
Stewards room report , MNS was asked to explain a bit of scuttlebut in the press about an investigation into its chair ,the explanation did not seem to soothe the crowd with MNS getting belted for six and down over 19% on the day. The other was RAN which announced a fund raiser but still raced strongly on the day.
Hopefully we will get a better day tomorrow ,as I write gold is steady after a small pull back over night (its just catching its breath for the run to $1900) ,and US futures are fairly flat.
