    End-of-day summary:

    The share market rose for a second day as mining stocks rallied with strengthening iron ore, gold and copper prices.


    The ASX 200 climbed 20 points or 0.28% to 7078. Index heavyweights BHP and Rio Tinto put on 1.41% and 1.9%, respectively, as China iron ore prices this afternoon neared US$138 a metric ton.

    Copper's biggest single-day advance since July helped lift Sandfire Resources 5.01% and South32 1.57%. In the gold space, Northern Star put on 3.49% and Newmont 0.9% as the yellow metal rallied 0.67% back towards US$2,000 an ounce.

    US stocks rose overnight ahead of Thursday's Thanksgiving holiday. The S&P 500 exited correction territory with a rise of 0.74%.
