There is a theory around that if you have about 15 indicies, gold, oil, currency pairs, penny stocks etc then traders tend to make a good living applying recurring patterns because that three day pattern will recur many times each week and especially on Wednesdays and Fridays in a medium sized basket of financial instruments. The trick is to trade the setup not just look for price movement in a particular instrument.
