I do have a margin loan with ANZ, I do not have a good understanding of other providers. ANZ offer me a reduced brokerage (fixed, vs a %) in part because of this facility.
That fixed brokerage, and buying in appropriate sized parcels help me understand the value of the trade proposed.
I had a look back on the 3 stocks until the start of this current financial year (just for your interest). I have had 35 trades on FMG, 22 on MQG and 2 on CSL.
Looking forward to any contribution to this thread you wish to make - my mantra was if I could make money via these types of trades, I could use that for "more risky" spec trades, the usual subject of these threads. My successful strike rate is far higher on the large caps.
