    Thanks afternoon crew.

    End-of-day summary:
An early plunge in Australian shares proved a buying opportunity as the market recouped most of its losses by the close.
The ASX 200 finished just 12 points or 0.13% lower after tumbling 71 points in early action.
Energy producers, consumer companies, utilities, industrials, tech firms and REITs overcame early weakness. Pilbara Minerals, Boss Energy and AMP were among the day's best. Santos, Westpac and Fortescue stood out among the heavyweights.
The early weakness followed a mixed conclusion to last week on Wall Street as tech gains boosted the Nasdaq, while "old-economy" stocks weighed on the Dow. The S&P 500 closed little changed, down less than 0.1%.
