Now before any holders run out and jump off the nearest cliff, after a long basing period ie. accumulation, there will come a point when the big end of town will mark up a stock, good. It may then unfortunately break its series of HH/HL's etc, breaking the lows of some high volume up bars, ahhh its all over we say..... BUT it may still be quiet okay for the LT hold as this may or may not, be simply an area of re-accumulation and NOT the dreaded distribution.

That's not the point of this post, this is only showing how one can spot/avoid/take advantage of this potential weak setup that involves HV upbars..

btw the stock SMN, we started on Friday to watch some potential weakness appear, today it came to fruition, that is not the same weakness as these three charts, that form of weakness was purely thru having a series of weaker breakouts, nothing to do with the lows of some high volume up bars being broken.

hopefully this may provide some insight/thought.

Thanks for the great chart work. How would you compare you approach to identifying weakness in a company to the current chart for MTA. Up until today, MTA had been showing some weakness over the last four days, however today it was up strongly? What would have been your assessment of the MTA chart had you looked it at COB yesterday?
