The MICC and DENR had a meeting yesterday in the Philippines to discuss mining

"Another issue that MICC is now tasked to discuss is the new fiscal regime on mining."
"The Senate recently approved to increase the excise taxes on metallic and non-metallic mining resources from 2 percent to 4 percent."
I hear they have increased the excise tax from 2% to 4%, and this will now resolve all the issues of E079. The DENR is very likely to now overturn the ban on open pit mining. This would bring RTG's 64% owned Mabilo deposit into play. This is 1-2Mozs @ 5-6g/t aueq with porphyry exploration yet to occur. DSO capex is just $17M ...
I have been saying this is likely to happen before the end of the year. If it does, the effect would be enormous. This is completely separate from their Panguna aspirations
