Single in the UK on job seeker 325 p/m income. Per calendar month not worked out daily.
No rent if in council flat.
Taxes/rates on the flat 64 lb/m (don't have pound symbol)
Phone/internet 50 bl/m until I get a credit rating or until I have been here two years then can go on postpaid which is a lot cheaper.
TV license 6 lb/w 24 lb/m
Utilities Gas/Power 60 lb/m if I don't use the central heating.
Public transport say 1 bus a a day at 5 days/week @ 1.55 34 lb/m
water not sure yet but am waiting for my first bill.
Office subscription 6
Incredible charts 6
All I can think of right now.
I know the last two are optional and so is the TV but that leaves 80 lb/m for food and anything else. 2.67 per day.
Just looked up the dole in Australia which is what I was getting when I had my heart operation. Currently
630 p/f or $1350 p/m
Rent is not free but rent assistance is up to $300 a month which is what I was getting as I was paying Twice that as a private renter.
Big difference, I know where I would rather be.
Work in my trade (if I could get it) is paying 17lb an hour over here. I could fill shelves starting at 9 lb an hour.
