End-of-week wrap:
The share market's losing run extended to a third week despite a recovery this session as traders squared their positions ahead of a long weekend.
The ASX 200 bounced 0.32% this session, breaking a run of three straight daily declines. Today's rebound trimmed the index's loss for the week to 23 points or 0.3%. The index has been in a gentle downtrend since mid-April, falling for six of the last eight weeks.
Gains today for tech stocks and miners outweighed declines in utilities, industrials and energy producers.
US futures drifted lower ahead of the final session of a light week for corporate and economic news. S&P 500 futures eased 0.1%. Wall Street trades twice before the ASX re-opens on Tuesday.
