@Old Man -Looking back the interest rates were crazy - as much as they are crazy now - be good to get to a nice balance where retirees can earn a living from being good savers and others can manage a mortgage - it is a bit of a crazy time now - be so interesting to see how this all plays out currently... I know my Mum held on worked hard - she got her home in Gerringong and has had a good retirement -she bought that land when no one wanted it - she did take me down there to help choose the block - Think it cost 15 k -When I needed a place to live as a single mum it was just a godsend - i had savings and bought a block myself further down the coast in Manyana = goodness I loved that place - the locals always joked I bought the absolute bottom look now nothing much for sale paradise - I struggled along saved built a house - put a roof over my childs head - one of my proudest moments in life
