It's the closing price auction Rick. Same as the opening auction, they do it every arvo at 4.10 (random +60secs). For example: a well known stock, APT last traded at 3:59:58 at $115.53 but after the auction and all the buyers and sellers were matched, the official closing price at 4:10:12 was $116.00.
My portfolio jumped up by a fair bit after the closing auction today, so there must have been some positivity in those stocks. ( until Monday )
