It is amazing how people view their relationships differently, some of it I suppose is based on their life experiences and how their families showed affection/love/etc.
I will never forget my wife and walking with my parents the morning after their 60th anniversary celebrations. Both couples walked hand in hand with their respective spouses - it was a magical moment and one I cherished as 5 months later we lost my mother.
