    Thanks afternoon crew.

    End-of-day wrap:

The share market eked out a slender weekly gain despite a setback this session following the Nasdaq's worst night in four months.

The ASX 200 gave back 11 points or 0.15% this session as the local tech sector followed its US big brother lower. The ASX tech sector reversed 2.73% off yesterday's 18-month closing high. Overnight, the Nasdaq skidded 2.05% following disappointing trading updates from Tesla and Netflix.

Today's reversal trimmed the Australian benchmark's gain for the week to 11 points or 0.15%. The index struggled to build on last week's momentum after a drop in unemployment pointed to further rate hikes to cool spending and bring down inflation.

US futures were tentatively positive at the Australian market close. Dow futures firmed 0.15%, hinting at a tenth straight advance tonight.

Right, that's work over for another week. Where's the bar? This week's Lounge Special is an Orange and Basil Pimms. Gin, vermouth, Cointreau, sliced orange and ginger, topped up with tonic water and decked out with basil leaves. Recipe here.
